In spite of his long term illness, he never lost his quick wit and his wonderful sense of humor, even in the last days of his life. In fact, his final scientific paper on the Shroud, co-authored with fellow STURP team member Sam Pellicori, was published on January 30, 2023, the day before he died! You will find that paper featured in the Recently Published Papers & Articles section of today's update. Although one of the lesser known Shroud scholars (Larry avoided giving interviews and making public statements), he was definitely one of the truly important and dedicated members of the team and his contributions to Shroud science were many. We extend our sincerest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. It is with the deepest regret and sadness that I must report that Larry Schwalbe, STURP team physicist from Los Alamos National Laboratory, died on Januafter a long illness.
